Early Voting Opens Oct. 23 in Merchantville

The state of New Jersey now offers early voting in select municipalities. Merchantville is one of only seven towns in Camden County chosen to offer this additional voting window. Beginning Oct. 23, registered voters may cast their ballots at the Community Center, located at 212 Somerset Street. Voting booths are available from 10am-8pm Monday through Saturday and 10am-6pm on Sundays through Oct. 31.

“We are proud that Merchantville was chosen as an early voting location in Camden County,” says Mayor Ted Brennan. “This is an incredible opportunity to increase voting and provide Camden County residents with greater accessibility to the voting process.” Early voting locations are open to all registered voters in Camden County.

This new option enables all registered voters to cast their ballot in person, using a voting machine, during a nine-day period prior to Election Day with no appointment necessary. New Jersey residents may now choose to vote, in person, when it’s most convenient for their schedule. Each early voting location in Camden County is open to all registered Camden County voters. Individuals do not need to vote in their registered municipality.  Those previously registered to vote by mail must have opted out of the mail-in option by August 31, 2021 in order to take advantage of in-person voting.

Other voting options also remain available. Mail in ballots must be postmarked by 8pm on Nov. 2 and received by the Board of Elections by Nov. 8. Secure ballot drop boxes are also available throughout the county, with locations be found at Vote.NJ.Gov. Voters must place their ballot in the secure drop box by 8pm Nov. 2. Or, vote in person at your polling place, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, November 2. Accommodations will be made for voters with disabilities. Go to Vote.NJ.Gov for your polling place, listed on the Polling Locations page. NOTE: Vote-by-mail ballots CANNOT be returned to your polling place for this election.
