Animal License Information
Licenses must be obtained annually in the month of January. Instruction and Form
Fees: Spayed/Neutered $18.00
Unspayed/unneutered: $23.00
Late Fees: After January 31, the late fee is $20.00 in addition to the original cost.
A non-compliance fee of $50.00 shall be charged for each cat or dog found to be unlicensed.
Licensing Age: Cats and Dogs over 7 months

Backyard Chicken Information
License renewal is $25.00 per year by cash or check to 1 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109.
Please mail or drop off the paperwork with a stamped, self-addressed envelope in our drop box and once processed, you will receive in the mail a receipt and a new tag for your chicken pen.
DON’T FORGET:-

- The Chicken coop shall be the appropriate size for the number of chickens, dry, well ventilated and clean coop with an enclosed run that is predator-proof.
- There shall be no selling of eggs.
- Waste will be handled in a way as proper composting to prevent offensive odors.
- You must attend a “backyard Chicken class” prior to requesting a license.
- No roosters allowed.
- The Code enforcement officer is empowered to revoke the license held by any person who violates ordinance 16-12
